The Varsity Jacket, the Baseball Jacket, whatever you want to call it, I’ve always loved their unabashedly preppy, bi-tonal, stylish simplicity. You can probably blame it on my childhood obsession with baseball (before deciding to become a lawyer at 9 years old, I’d declared that I would be the first female player in Major League Baseball/the MLB), or growing up in a polo-shirt-and-boat-shoes-wearing town next to Toronto.
Off the playing field and away from academia’s ivory tower, it’s all about reworking, restyling, and reinvigorating the varsity jacket to take centre stage on the pre-show catwalks.
