V&A Connects: Fashion, autonomy and the body mass index

I am excited to be a part of the latest series of fashion talks at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London this Friday, 7th of June.

For those working in fashion and associated industries, or with an interest in how what we see influences how we perceive ourselves, we will be exploring whether it is possible to keep a healthy relationship to oneself in a ‘superficial’ industry. Do trends and fashion still dictate how we feel about ourselves? Where are we now since Kate Moss kicked off the ‘super skinny’ trend during the Calvin Klein campaign in the 1990s?

The evening’s topic was devised by The Breaks’ Alexandra Plesner (Project Manager TANK Form), and my fellow panelists include Eve Kalinik (Nutritionist), and Chi Chi Menendez (Creative Director Le Baron and Supernova). Lou Stoppard (Editor SHOWstudio) will be moderating our panel.

I’m looking forward to meeting some of you there!

Time: 18.30-20.30
